Pizza For Lunch

Someone in my department recommended pizza for lunch. We decided to all pitch in on the cost and ordered an extra large veggie with sausage and it was very tasty. The place that we ordered from was "Escape From New York Pizza." This was the first time we ordered their pizza. Of course, everyone took their pieces and I was the last one, so I ended up with 2 thin slices. Now, it's time for me to take a stroll and work off the pizza.

First Day Of Summer!

Isn't it suppose to be nice, sunny and warm on this special day? NOT!! As usual, it's cold, windy and cloudy in San Francisco. This is pretty much sleepy weather. The morning news said that it will get warmer and sunnier later on in the day. Looking out the window it looks like the sun is trying to peek out there. They say the weather will be nice during the weekends. Anyways, it's Friday and I can't wait to see my hunny.

USA Dream For World Cup Is Over....

Oh well, I got up this morning and heard on the radio the awful news. Germany 1 USA 0. And the game wasn't finished yet. It became official, when I logged on my computer at work and read my hunny's web log. Sorry, sweetie about the loss. All I can say is, no one expected the US to go this far. That is an accomplishment in itself. Great job guys! But the better team won and good luck to them on their journey to the World Cup. Doubt if I will be that interested in the outcome of the other games, now that my home team won't be there and my other fav England lost to Brazil. =0(

Fact or Fiction??

A co worker was reading an e mail that a friend sent him. And he read this to all of us. Here it goes..
Seems that this guy who works in the WTC was staying at his girlfriend's place. He decided to not to go in to work on September 11. Suddenly his cell phone rings..and it's his WIFE! She asks him "where are you?" and he tells her I am at work. I found it amusing, but is this true or just a joke???

Overweight People Being Charged For An Extra Seat

At first, I thought they were kidding. But I read in the newspaper about an article based on this issue. Seems that Southwest Airline will be charging people who occupy more than one seat, starting next week. We were discussing this at work. First off, if you purchase tickets on line, how will the airlines know if you are overweight or not. Will there be a question stating this extra fee due to your weight or built? Or will it ask "your weight"? I know there are safety issues. To charge another seat? This is going to make a few people unhappy.

Tonight's Movie "Undercover Brother"

Aside from the commercials and upcoming attractions, the movie went by pretty quick. Basically, the movie is based on a parody of such movies as: "Shaft", "Foxy Brown", Bruce Lee's "Enter The Dragon" and "James Bond." Eddie Griffin plays our hero, Undercover Brother. He plays a robin hood type character, helping those in need. He gets recruited to infiltrate the notorious "The Man." We only get to hear his face and a shadow figure of him, but don't actually see who it is. He has a partner in crime, the sassy and tough Sista Girl played by Aunjanue Ellis. Undercover Brother had to make some attitude adjustments, trading his fro and platform shoes for some Eddie Buer and loafers. Once this is done, he gets ready to take on the evil doers, Chris Katan as "Mr Feathers" and "The Man". Katan's character as "Mr Feathers" was played very well. The dance sequence where he starts listening to Mary J Blige and he does his well known dance moves was very entertaining. Even Doogie Howser aka Neil Patrick Harris who plays "Lance", the intern learning to have searching for some soul was very amusing too. The clothes and the music brings back good and bad memories of the seventies. It had some special effects and there was a very gross scene towards the end. But let's not forget to mention. The voluptous Denise Richards (recently married to Charlie Sheen) as the villianess "White She Devil". The shower scene with her in the white skin hugging jump suit and Sista Girl in her camel mini and vest. Majority of the audience was men! If you like Austin Powers, then you will like this movie. Very entertaining and it will make you laugh.

Dinner At The Cheese Cake Factory

This is my first time eatting here. Word of mouth is the food is very filling and they give you a huge amount and most of all...it's a very long wait to be seated. My friend and I were told that there would be a 25 to 40 minute wait. We were given pagers to let us know when a table was ready. We did a little swimsuit browsing and it was close to 40 minutes and no page. Little did we know that if you leave the area, the pagers don't work. So, they said that the next available table we will be called and it didn't take but 5 minutes. I ordered the crab cakes with two types of sauces and french fries. My friend Aggar ordered the Chicken Marselas, this was marinated in a special sauce served with asparagus and mashed potatoes. We were stuffed and couldn't eat anymore. It was a very nice dinner but I don't think I would want to wait that long to be seated.

Got To Love Muni

This is how my day is starting so far...I got on the bus at 7:40 a.m.. Didn't arrive to work until 8:55 a.m. It took me an hour and 20 minutes. 30 minutes was spent sitting and waiting. Seems there was a delay earlier at the Church Street station. Thing is, my bus doesn't go that way. Because of this delay, it screwed all the other trains schedule. To top it off, I have a department meeting and my evaluation. Ugggggh....I should just stayed in bed.

Viv Has A New Chair

Actually, it's a former co-worker's chair and a bit different than my regular chair. Plus side: it has a higher back support and you can lean back without getting the feeling you are going to fall back. Minus side: I can't bounce on the chair, no adjustment for the height and may be some getting used to, in the tush area. Seat is kind of hard and firm. Uh oh I should have worded that different. There is no cushion in the seat area. Ok, that sounded much better... =0)

Father's Day

A day to honor someone very special and key player in our life. Aside from our mother, without him, we would never exist. Fond memories of my father come to mind....
Walks on the beach. Past Father's Day celebration. My dad insisting that we don't give him any gifts, but expecting them anyway. What can I say about my father??
Let's see, my dad was a very caring, loving and headstrong person. He taught me so many things. To never trust anyone but yourself. Make the right choices and if it fails in the end, deal with it. Always have a back up plan, in case the original one doesn't work out. Always be there for your siblings, no matter how angry you are with them, they are your flesh and blood. Treat others the same way that you want to be treated. My father was a chef, so he taught me how to cook simple dishes that I can just make. Not only was he a father to me, but he was also a mom. He would make sure I was ready for school and was the one that would attend all my parent-teacher meetings. My dad would prepare my lunch everyday for school and have a snack waiting for me when I got home. When I was sick, my father would leave work for a little bit, to check to see if I was ok. Even though my father is no longer with me, a part of him will always be with me. Just the thoughts and memories of him linger on in my life. He will never be forgotten...Thank you dad, for making me who I am today. "Happy Father's Day, Pop!!!!"

Chat Room Get Together

Yesterday, the weather was beautiful, nice day for a BBQ! One of our chat room regulars held a party in honor of a fellow chatter from Milwaukee. It was a great opportunity to welcome her to lovely California and to meet old and new people. Aside from the weather, the food was awesome! We came early, so we were able to enjoy the scrumptious menu. On the menu was: clams, grilled shrimp, chicken, salmon and corn. Wait there's more, we had fruit salad and bread. Yummy Yummy! I was stuffed. There was a pool and an inflated play house. Music was the entertainment later in the night, but we were too exhausted, so we left before that. All in all, it was a great turn out.
