The darling one and I have our usual lunch date at a restaurant that serves roast duck over rice. This is my favorite dish. =0) Besides my hunnay! heehee We discovered this place, when my hunnay was getting his replacement frames at his optometrist. The office is next door to the restaurant. It's a very nice restaurant and wait for the food is not that long.
After lunch, we head on down to the city. We are picking up some of my things for the BIG DAY!!!!! I have some things packed, but I still have more things to put in boxes. But I must say, my room is a mess. Once I move things slowly into my new home, then things should move smoothly.
Last night's episode was boring to me. The house mates were competing for Head of Household. The challenge was to see who can stay the longest in a steamed bath tub with eels, squids, cod oil and seaweed. As they were sitting in the tub, they started to reminisce on past events that occurred during the show's run. There was a scene where they had them discussing a strategy called "Operation Revolving Door." This means the evicted house mate who comes back on the show, will get nominated for eviction as soon as possible. They feel that, that person was first evicted, that person should permanently be out of the house and not get a chance to win the game. Doubt if this plan will work immediatley. Amy the third person who was evicted, is back in the game! And guess what? She is Head of Household, this means she has to nominate two people for eviction. My thought on who she may choose? There is a possiblity, that she will pick Chiara. She doesn't like her that much. Well, let's see how much wheeling and dealing will be down in the days to come. The house mates will have to make deals with Amy to secure their place in the house. On Wednesday, there will be a two hour special. Singer Sheryl Crowe is going to give a private concert for the house guests.
Or at least packing up things. I stayed up until 11:00 and fell asleep at 11:30 p.m. last night. I have 6 trash bags of things that a local charity will be picking up next week. Also, I was able to pack some things for my big move. Standing among all the things that packed and the stuff I am donating, I still have more things to do. Uggggggh!!! Okay, I am getting over dramatic here. Well, very soon, I will be with my darling one. =0)
Finally, Josh was evicted and it took 5 weeks. He knew his day was numbered and when they announced who was evicted, he had a surprised look on his face. He thought Roddy was the one and he was slapping Roddy's leg, telling him sorry man and then realized he was the one to go. Only two of the guys walked Josh out the door, the others stayed behind. Josh was being accused for lying and being sneaky. Ahem, this is a game and the winner gets 500,000, you do whatever you can to win! So, the four previous evictions got a second chance to come in the house. They had questions that they had to answer. Two can stay and Two will go home. First question: if you won the grand prize, how much would you give to remain in the game. One said "50,000", the other three said "250,000" and they each had to sign a contract to this promise. There was a tie. Next question: How long will you be able to eat peanut butter and bread. One said 21 days, Two of them said the remaining 42 days. Those two were Amy and Eric. They were told to stand in front of the doors. It was up to the house mates to vote for who they wanted to come back. Each person was in a seperate room, so they can't see who voted for whom. They each had a paddle and they were asked to raise up to who they wanted to come back. Then the two standing outside were told who can go back inside. It was Amy and she rang the doorbell and walked inside. They were all happy and screaming when they saw her. It was time to choose a new head of household. The challenge was to see how long someone can stay in a very hot temperatured bath tub. The catch...there are containers of mystery stuff on the side of the tub. And the current head of household has to pour them in. So, far squid was poured in the tub. Roddy jumped out immediately, so he is out of the challenge. The winner is head of household. We will know the winner tomorrow, there is a special episode because Saturday there will be a preseason football game and Big Brother 3 will not be shown.
Last night's episode had the competition for power of veto. Josh was secluding himself from everyone. Once he was nominated to be evicted, he immediately started packing his bags. He knew that he was going to get evicted and he started to show a different side of himself. Not sure if this is some ploy to get sympathy. I noticed that Jason, the virgin, shy and mister nice guy is starting to show another side of himself too. Here's the drama going on. Chiara, this week's head of household put up her guy and Josh up for eviction. Her good friend, Lisa, got the power of veto. So, Lisa has to choose whether to veto Josh or Roddy's nomination. Now here is the situation, if Lisa used it to save someone, there is a possibility that Chiara will vote Lisa as the replacement. There is so many back stabbing, that it's all for revenge. Another dilemma is tonight's episode. The four previous people evicted, one will get a chance at winning the game. Now, this will cause some complications. Mainly, if Eric gets back in the game, his girl Lisa will be happy, but he will get back at (1) Gerry, for picking Eric when there was a tie breaker to the nominations (2) Jason voted him out (3) Chiara didn't use her veto to save him. This will be very interesting.
My co worker, Jeremiah celebrates the big 22! We are having cheesecake to celebrate his and my birthday (my birthday was last Saturday). Now if my dad was still alive, he would have been 93 today!
Last night, I was attempting to clean out my closet, which is taking me a while to do. I was watching television and turning the channels. There was a repeated show of magician David Blaine. This is the one where he is in a block of ice. I didn't see all of it, but I did catch him doing an act with these people. He took a woman's ring and removed a diamond solatiare. He took the solatiare and swallowed it. Everyone was like disgusted. Then he asked this guy, look in my eye. He started to rub the lower part of the eyeball where the eyelid was. The observer said no way. The camera got closer and in about a minute the solitaire showed up coming out from his lower eyelid. The crowd was amazed and so was I.
Yesterday, my best friend sent me an e mail regarding a 4 year old girl who was missing while shopping with her mother. This woman was standing beside a lady who realized that her daughter was no where in sight. The lady kept calling her daughter "Katie." Immediately, someone at the store ran to the phone and announced on the PA system, to close all doors and mentioned that they are looking for a missing little girl. 10 minutes later, the little girl was found in the rest room. Her hair was half shaved, there was a change of clothes, a razor and a wig. She is safe, but they didn't find the person who did this. What a very sick minded person. Thanks to the quick reaction to the store clerk, everything turned out fine.
Ok, here is something that got me a little miffed. Last night, I was in the chat room. One of the regulars made a comment about "if anyone wanted a four year old brat who is screaming that he doesn't want to go to bed." First thing that came to my mind was, there are children that are missing, some get molested, and others are found dead. She should think twice to her comment. I wanted to say something, but that would be like a slap in the face. I am sure she didn't mean it and she was just kidding. But this is a subject you don't kid about. It is a very serious matter and nothing to joke about. People say things they don't mean and somewhere down the road it may become reality. Everyone should watch their kids very carefully and spend as much time as they can with them, because life is very precious.
I have no idea why the critics bashed this movie. We enjoyed it. It was very entertaining. Nice scenery and pumping music. It stars Vin Diesel, Samuel L Jackson and some other actors that I am not that familiar with. Basically it's about the government trying to infaltrate a plan that is based in Berlin. One of their top spies gets killed during the mission. So, they get someone who is not your typical James Bond type spy. Instead they get someone who is a convicted killer and street smart. Jackson finds Diesel and recruits him as the new spy. He uses his smarts and becomes chummy with the enemy. Diesel's character is far from your typical debonair type spy. He seems real and in some sense a kind of rugged edge to his character. Diesel had a sense of humor too. Jackson's character as his boss wasn't that bad. He wasn't in the movie that much. Rumor has it, if this movie does well, there may be a possibility of a sequel.
Last night's episode was shown later than usual. Because of football preseason game with the Niners and Chiefs. Chiefs won by the way. Anyway, Big Brother 3 was shown at 10. Everyone left a little after 10:30, so I got to see the part where Chiara made her nominations. From what I was able to see and from getting updated from the net. It seem that the housemates got a turn of twist, I am not sure exactly what it's called, but the four people who were evicted, one of them will get the chance to go back in the house and a chance to win the game. The remaining housemates, were not thrilled about this. Among the four evicted, they will have to compete to get back in the house. So, the chosen ones for nomination of eviction is...Josh and......Roddy! What a shock, to see Chiara nominate her man. Doubt if those two will stay together. She chose Josh because he lied to her about something and she found out the truth from Lisa. And she picked Roddy because she feels that he will not vote for Josh and she doesn't want Josh in the game. But before the nominations were revealed, the look on everyone's face was not a happy one. There were sour faces all around the table and expressions of worry. I can't wait for the next episode. Woohoo!!
Well, we had a very nice cozy party of 8 including myself and Bill. Everyone participated in bringing something. My sister Nancy and her husband, Berly, brought salad with dressing. Bill's friend Nancy and her fiance, Jim, brought a cucumber with cheese dish, my co worker Aggar brought sausage with peppers and onions, Bill made stuffed chicken with mushroom stuffing, and well....I cooked the rice. =0) After dinner, we had some entertainment. We were broken up in two groups. Males against the females. The game was Guesstures. It's a type of charade type of game, but there are some strict rules. My hunnay and I have played this game already. Who won you ask? The WOMEN!!!!!! After the game, I opened my presents. Besides my bracelet, that I received in the morning, I got some body lotion, shower gel, soap and candles, perfume "Romance" by Ralph Lauren, a gift card and a handmade necklace. Ooops I forgot to mention my gifts from my best friend, Dewi, she sent me a shirt, and two pairs of earring. I was very touched and overwhelmed. Then it was cake time!!!! The cake came from "Just Desserts" and it is called the "Weekend Cake." Normally, every birthday that I have celebrated, my cake was always strawberry. But this time, I decided to change it to a mocha chocolate cake with a cream cheese frosting and filling. Topped off with shaved chocolate as the decoration. Later pictures were taken and everyone had to go home cause it was getting late. My hunnay was all pooped out. Awwwww He was rewarded with a foot massage. Thank you sweetie for a wonderful birthday!!!
As I am waiting for the guests to arrive for my birthday party, thoughts of my 5th birthday came to mind. My parents would make a fuss, when it came to birthdays. Especially my father. He would prepare the food and set up things. As I watch my darling one, Bill, make preparations, that started me to reminisce. I was dressed in a yellow dress, something I will never forgive my mother for making me wear. The material was lacy and it itched me all night. I had two ponytails. The house was full of guests and I had a whole bunch of presents. I still have a picture of me and my father that was taken on that day. Whenever I see that picture, it makes me smile and my eyes get misty. It's memories like this, that keep the spirit of my parents alive and will forever stay with me. Thank you mom and dad for giving me life on this day and for making me the person that I am today.
