Congratulations to Vina and Chris

Last night, my hubby and I, attended a wedding in Fairfield, Ca. It was on my side of the family. The bride, Vina, is a distant cousin and the sister of my brother-in-law. Confusing huh?

The drive was close to 2 hours and it was fairly slow, getting to the reception. Once we arrived, everyone is busy eating. Later, others started to arrive. The food was okay, Atkins friendly. Too bad they didn't have any mixed vegetables. Pig was delicious and so was the salmon.

The center of attention, of course, was the bride and the groom. They looked stunning in their attire. I started to reminisce about our wedding (note* this was only about 5 months ago!). There were about 150 guests estimated.

It was the first time, for my husband to be part of a traditional filipino wedding. We didn't make it to the church ceremony, so he wasn't able to witness that. This consists of the joining together, by the chord and lighting the candles. Then a blessing is giving, in between a soloist sings a song. Usually, this is about an hour long. There is something called the money dance. Not only, filipinos, do this. My best friend, who is Indonesian, had this done, during her wedding. For me, I didn't have this done at ours (we had a small group of 30 guests).

It was nice for us to see my relatives again and to be part of the celebration of their marriage.
