I Spy

This is a remake of the old television series, starring Robert Culp and Bill Cosby. In the movie version, it stars Owen Wilson, as Culp's character and Eddie Murphy as the Cosby character.

The plot is: a top secret invisible jet is stolen. It's up to Owen Wilson aka Alex, to retrieve the plane. Seems that the bad guy, Arnold Gundars (played by Malcolm McDowell, is a fan of boxing. Eddie Murphy's character, Kelly Robinson, is a boxer. He's got a match set up in Hungary, just where Gundars happens to be.

In typical Eddie Murphy fashion. He has the quick mouth and smart alec remarks. At first it's funny, but then you get a bit tired. Owen Wilson as the "My gadgets are from radio shack, This is a stake out right?, Puppy love crush on Rachel", Alex, is not very amusing. He acts naive and blind, that his crush, Rachel (played by Femke Jensen) is using him, teasing with him and only cares for the swiss bank account.

I'm glad we didn't see this when it was first released in the theatres. It was better to wait for it to be shown on cable.

Love Actually

Cute romantic comedy. The movie follows 8 couples. The characters are falling in love, falling out of love, either with the right person or with the wrong person, some are looking to have an affair and some are mourning a loved one. Love begins and love ends. There is some flirting with eachother and with love. Love is for all ages, races, social levels, romantic or brotherly, this is the theme.

The movie is filmed in London and during the Christmas season. 4 weeks before Christmas. All the characters are connected in some way. The movie ends, with the characters all ending up at the Heathrow airport, in a very touching moment.

I felt that it was a well scripted movie. There are so many familiar faces and soon to be familiar faces. Some I recognized and others, I couldn't place what movie, I've seen them in. It made me laugh and there were some touching moments.

Quakes Are In!!!

Well, the San Jose Quakes, represent the west in the MLS Cup next week. Against the Chicago Fire.

We missed the first half of the game, cause we went to the movies and coffee with some friends. Again, the game was a nail biter. They were tied, then the Kansas City Wizards, scored a goal and was leading. Next thing you-know-it, the Quakes tied. There was an overtime and bam! The Quakes scoooooooooooored!!!!!

Congratulations to the San Jose Quakes!!! Bring home the winning trophy baaaaaaaby.
