Well it was 3 years ago that I started at my job. Time sure does fly by and you aren't having fun. Just kidding. 2 years in the San Francisco office and a little over a year at San Jose.
Big difference between the two locations. San Francisco has a larger staff and attorneys (occupies 5 and half floors). San Jose is a bit smaller and occupies one floor.
This is a hot topic at the "water cooler" or shall I say lunch room talk. A few people at work give their opinion of the contestants on this show. Now it is down to 12.
Here are the 12 and my opinion on each. First we have: Amy Adams famous for her pink hair. Nice voice. Camile Velasco from Hawaii. Also has nice voice. Diane DeGarmo, I missed seeing her sing, so I really can't much on her. Fantasia Barrino sounds like Macy Gray, she has a very raspy voice. George Huff needs to work on the big smile but he does have a great voice. Jasmine Trias from Hawaii has a great voice. With the right songs, she can go far. She reminds me so much of my niece Rachel. Jasmine sounds a bit like Christina Aguilliar. Jennifer Hudson great voice and she pretty much has her own wardrobe style. You go gurl! John Stevens a wannabe Clay Aikens. Great voice but will it take me far? We shall see... Jon Peter Lewisis very entertaining. He doesn't have a strong voice but he has some dance moves. As a co-worker put it, he looks so short. Latoya London local girl from Oakland she has a wonderful voice and a very quiet personality. Leah LaBelle nice voice but not quite strong as the others. Matthew Rogers he has a nice voice, rosy cheeks and holds a grudge to Simon. Who doesn't?
Most of them sang ballads. But you are going to have to broaden your range and pick songs that a up beat. The upcoming shows will most likely have the contestants singing songs from different eras and styles of songs. This is where the competition gets alittle tougher.
So far I have for favorites: Latoya London, George Huff, Jasmine Trias and Camille Velasco. Hopefully one of them will become American Idol.
I've never seen this movie but I have heard of it. I was aware that it won a few Oscars (Best Picture) and who can forget the theme song from that movie.
It's about two British sprinters. One a determined Jew and another a devout Christian who compete in the 1924 Olympics. The story, told in flashback, of two young British sprinters competing for fame in the 1924 Olympics. Eric, a devout Scottish missionary runs because he knows it must please God. Harold, the son of a newly rich Jew runs to prove his place in Cambridge society. In a warmup 100 meter race, Eric defeats Harold, who hires a pro trainer to prepare him. Eric, whose qualifying heat is scheduled for a Sunday, refuses to run despite pressure from the Olympic committee. A compromise is reached when a nobleman allows Eric to compete in his 400 meter slot. Eric and Harold win their respective races and go on to achieve fame as missionary and businessman/athletic advocate, respectively.
Through the urging of my husband, I decided to watch the movie. I enjoyed it.
